Why natural over typical antiperspirant deodorant?
Typical deodorant is chalked full of chemicals, hormone disruptors, aluminium, parabens, phthalates, fragrance, and preservatives. Since our skin is our largest organ, anything that is put on the skin is absorbed into our bodies.
Natural deodorants replace irritants and chemicals with shea butter, coconut oil, baking soda, arrowroot powder, cocoa butter, vitamin E, etc.
Just remember that this formulation does not promise to stop sweat (it’s not an antiperspirant which blocks ducts that release sweat, using chemicals). It does work to keep body odour at bay. This 100% natural deodorant prevents and neutralises odours, and allows you to stay fresh all day. It is a good idea to reapply if you are having a busy day.
Caprylic triglyceride, or capric triglyceride, is a compound that combines fatty acids from natural oils, such as coconut oil, with glycerine.
Coconut oil has natural antibacterial properties, so it’s great for face, and skin. It soaks into your body easily, and helps ward of fungal infections and thus is a natural deodorant itself.
Sodium Bicarbonate is an antibacterial and pH neutraliser. In our deodorants, it is used to neutralise the acid in sweat and eliminate underarm bacteria, therefore preventing body odour from forming. It is an amazing deodoriser!
Kaolin clay with its gentle absorbent properties, makes a perfect base for a deodorant that works without harsh additives like aluminum and parabens. Not only does it effectively combat moisture, but it also helps neutralize odour, keeping you fresh throughout the day.
Arrowroot helps control odour by absorbing sweat, thereby reducing the moisture that bacteria thrive on. The presence of zinc and other trace minerals also contributes to its antibacterial properties.
The essential oils fight bacteria, regulate oil secretion, improve circulation and it make our deodorant smell fresh and invigorating.
Candelilla wax also forms a light barrier on the skin, helping to lock in moisture and protect against external irritants. Its natural emollient properties ensure that the deodorant glides on effortlessly, leaving the skin feeling soft and protected.
