Description

Orange Blossom

What does this emulsified body butter offer to your skin?

If a recipient of anhydrous (waterless formulation) body butter is left in a warm car, a steamy bathroom, or a sunbeam, the body butter can melt and go grainy. Emulsified body butters don’t do that. The water content means they hydrate and moisturise. And our skin needs oil and water… Moreover, an anhydrous body butter will only lock in the moisture whereas an emulsified body butter will hydrate the skin and lock in the moisture. It is often better for dry, cracked, or sensitive skin that needs extra emollients.

Elderberry, rosemary, oregano and more!

Elderberry Leaves with Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Properties. Sambuci folium (elderberry leaves) have been used in traditional medicine, mainly externally, to treat skin diseases and wounds. In skincare, elderberry extract or oil is often used in serums, moisturisers, and masks to protect the skin from free radical damage, reduce inflammation, and promote a more radiant and youthful complexion

Oregano. A 2020 study found that oregano essential oil may have anti-inflammatory and wound-healing activity in human keratinocytes. Keratinocytes are a type of skin cell that helps protect the outer layer of skin from infection and environmental damage. Oregano possesses anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties which destroy the fee radicals that damage healthy cells.

In dermatology, rosemary helps balance sebum, keeping your skin’s natural oils at their baseline level to achieve hydrated but not overly oily skin. As an antioxidant, rosemary can also help protect skin cells from damage, making it easier for them to maintain their natural levels of hydration.

Tepezcohuite contains high levels of antioxidants such as tannins, flavonoids and saponins, which have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, healing and free radical damage protection properties (a key cause of premature aging and many types of inflammation).

It contains natural minerals and nutrients that nourish and revitalise the skin.

Its anti-inflammatory properties help soothe and calm irritated or inflamed skin.

Its regenerative properties promote the healing of wounds, scars, burns and other damage to the skin’s surface.

Tepezcohuite helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production in skin cells.

Next to this fabulous ingredient, the Face Mousse contains various botanicals which, amongst many other benefits, will also help protect your skin against UVs.

Macadamia oil helps dry and cracked skin to regenerate, making it more resilient and strengthening the skin structure. It smooths fine lines and wrinkles and leaves the skin feeling supple and soft. The oil absorbs very quickly, without leaving a greasy film.

Vegetable glycerine is a popular skincare treatment because of its moisturising power. Research shows that applying glycerine to your skin may gradually improve its smoothness and suppleness. In fact, using creams containing glycerine may increase skin hydration in as few as 10 days.

Chamomile. When most people think of chamomile, they usually associate it with a good cup of tea to help them unwind at the end of a long day. But this little white and yellow blossom is so much more than that.

For centuries, the chamomile plant has proven to have many great skincare benefits, including the ability to fight acne, reduce aging signs, and keep the skin hydrated. The plant contains a combination of three natural compounds — chamazulene, bisoprolol, and apigenin. These compounds are found to help soothe sensitive skin. It’s these same compounds that also play a role in helping heal damaged skin. One of the benefits of chamomile (and our favorite!) is that it can reduce the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and other common signs of aging. There are two antioxidant properties of the plant that make this possible — polyphenols and phytochemicals. These protect the skin from free radical damage, which accelerates skin aging. When applied to your skin, chamomile helps with cell and tissue renewal, giving you a youthful glow.

Shea butter. High concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins make shea butter an ideal cosmetic ingredient for softening skin. Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Using shea butter on your body can condition, tone, and soothe your skin and by deeply moisturizing, exfoliating, reducing inflammation, and blocking some UV rays, shea butter is able to naturally lighten and even out skin tone with continued use. Shea butter is reported to aid in tissue cell regeneration and has been shown to boost collagen production, which plays a role in firming the skin. It is loaded with vitamin F (a mixture of two essential fatty acids), which keeps the skin hydrated and soft, thus maintaining its elasticity.

Cetyl Alcohol is a skin-friendly fatty alcohol with hydrating, conditioning, and softening properties. Other than acting as an emulsifier or thickener in skin-care products, cetyl alcohol is also an occlusive agent. It’s great at protecting the skin barrier from drying out and preventing water loss.

Allantoin, Multiple Benefits for the Skin

Healing and Repair

Allantoin stimulates the growth of new tissue, aka cell turnover , helping the skin heal faster and reducing the appearance of scars.
Its lightening and exfoliating properties promote the elimination of dead cells, without irritating the epidermis, which accelerates the regeneration of the skin and allows it to regain radiance more quickly.

Intense Hydration

Just like hyaluronic acid, this active ingredient improves the skin’s ability to retain water, thus revealing a luminous and even complexion . But it stands out for its softening action , which also allows it to maintain good skin hydration and make the skin soft and more supple.

Suitable for Sensitive Skin

Allantoin reduces irritation and redness, making it an ideal ingredient for sensitive or damaged skin , but also for delicate skin prone to inflammation. It acts on inflamed areas by soothing tightness and other skin discomfort. This ingredient is also often included in after-sun or post-shave care: it is a gentle, non-irritating active ingredient for damaged skin.

Panthenol is a humectant which means it is a moisturizing agent which draws water into the outer layer of the skin (stratum corneum), from deeper levels and from the air. By hydrating this layer of skin, panthenol exerts a revitalizing effect which leads to smoother, softer skin.
